Recce

Location: external - night - alleyway

Positive: plenty of room to shoot and quiet secluded area with hardly any random people passing through

Negative: uneven and cluttered ground can be dangerous to run on

Solution: mark out on floor wherever it is safe to walk on and move any sharp objects out of the way

Location: external - night - bridge

Positive: people unlikely to be on the bride and it is safe and stable

Negative: can be noise and lots of people nearby due to being next to a car park

Solution: film during times when people have most likely finished work and gone home

Location: external - night - park

Positive: open wide space to shoot, organise right setting and get various angles

Negative: random people may be walking by

Solution: shoot during later time when people are most likely to be inside

Location: external - night - alleyway entry

Positive: small and secure area with unlikely chances of anybody being nearby

Negative: dangerous grounds to run on and people are likely to be passing by

Solution: move away clutter and wait for people to pass by before shooting

Location: external - night - mini forest

Positive: small and secure area with unlikely chance of anybody being nearby

Negative: can be difficult to form campfire due to bad weather conditions, also lighting will make it difficult to shoot properly

Solution: use dry wood to make campfire and use lighting and appropriate camera settings to capture image properly

Audience research - Survey results

What is your gender?
Although my target audience is not gender specific and can be enjoyed by both genders, my movie does revolve around an all girl cast therefore it is more likely to be watched by females.

How old are you?
My target audience age group is 16-24 since that is the age group I can mostly relate to and horror movies are also aimed at that age group.

What genre do you think this movie is?
My genre is clear to my audience from the proposal, so the movie trailer should also be clear and precise for my audience to understand.

Does the set-up of the movie build a good story?
Everybody agreed that my set-up built and good story and this is a good thing for me since the set-up is a big part of my trailer.

How interesting is the plot?
Nobody finds my movie plot not very interesting so that is a good sign to go. My target audience is happy meaning they are likely to watch.

Do you think the turning point is intense enough?
Most of my audience felt that the turning point was intense enough to generate an effect upon them. The turning point is very important as is an opportunity of shock and revelation. For those who selected 'no' could still be surprised when it is put together.

How do you feel about the ending?
Everybody was more then pleased with my ending which means I can continue as planned. Although people agreed upon the ending, I asked for further suggestions.

What ending would you like to see?
Most people were okay with my ending and a few had good suggestions but since my trailer will not feature the ending as that will be a spoiler, it will remain a mystery to me and my audience.

Movie title
I did an additional survey for find out what movie title my audience would suit with my proposal. As the most popular choice is 'Buried Sin', this is my movie's title.

Proposal

My movie will begin with 3 friends (female) camping out in the forest exchanging scary stories and having a good time. Soon they begin to panic as they hear sounds of trees and branches being moved and broken. Someone else is also there with them. As the sounds get louder, they stand up and grab  hold of a baseball bat that they had brought along for protection. Whilst they stare into one direction of the forest, a hooded man appears behind them making them jump, resulting in the friend with the baseball bat quickly attacking the man, hitting him across the head with the bat once. He falls to the ground and does not move. The friends quickly discover he was just a homeless drunk but now he is a dead homeless drunk. Horrified by their accidental actions, they worry about the consequences and decide to bury this secret along with the body.

One year later the 3 friends are going on about with their normal lives, coping with the past in their own unique ways. But one day, they receive a letter showing someone knows their secret. As they decide to ignore this they receive many more anonymous souvenirs from that night. Eventually these cyber attacks become physical attacks as they are nearly killed by a masked person. They face many problems, one being the chances of their secret being revealed as evidence slowly starts to unveil itself.

Whilst all 3 friends are being attacked by this masked person, they manage to pull his mask off revealing him to be another kid from their school whom they used to bully. It turns out that the night of the murder he was also there with intentions to pull a prank to scare the girls, but when he witnessed the murder, he decided to save his revenge for a better time. As it becomes clear he will stop at nothing to destroy these friends, they decide to turn him into the police along with themselves leaving their fate unknown to the audience.

Movie magazines: Codes & Conventions

Conclusion
Every magazine cover has a mast head which takes up almost a quarter of the page. This is to state clearly what magazine you are looking at. Well known magazines such as Total Film and Empire aren't afraid to partly cover their mast head due to their popularity and confidence of it. A magazine will have various sub headings for many articles that are inside to attract and show readers what they are about. You can see that they change their colour themes to match their movie genre. Font is almost always bold and big so it can be seen at a distance maybe across a supermarket. Images of people featured on cover are always the biggest image, fans of these actors may be encouraged to by the magazine.
